“Geo-economics and the economic security agenda of promoting trade, investments and connectivity greatly depends on the development of Maritime Laws. In the last five centuries of capitalist development, European colonial expansion was only made possible with the sea and ships. Sea in this way became a route of communication and strength rather than isolation and weakness. It is no doubt that maritime is not only an industry but a great weapon by which the European powers in the beginning of twentieth century took control of almost all of Asia and Africa. The boom in the economic sectors of countries like Germany, France and the United States of America can be attributed to the development of the maritime industry.”
“He who commands the Sea, commands the trade routes of the world. He who commands the trade routes, commands the trades. He who commands the trades, commands the riches of the world, and hence the world itself.”
